Follow up on Bridgecreek (latest development)

After my post of August 18 http://crowsnestpasshome.blogspot.com/2010/08/crowsnest-pass-and-bridgecreek.html .

Take a look at the story that came out in the local paper, and the spin that's been put on it to create the impression that council chased away a credible development that was looking to bring affordable housing to the Crowsnest Pass. The individual in the story makes its sound like this community and council have never supported him. (It must be getting close to an election, and then they use the same individual to spin the story even further to give credibility to blaming council for all of the problems in the Pass)
The story is available at http://www.passherald.ca/ also on the side of that page is a poll asking if you agree or disagree with councils position please participate and let the world know if you feel we made the right choice.

All one has to do is look what Bridgecreek/Bradley did in Canmore to the Bighorn Resort.

I'm glad you voted the way you did.

Didn't they say that they were building affordable housing on the River Run Site, whatever happened to those units?

Whatever became of Trouts Landing, when are they staring out at the Lakes?
Didn't they say that they would be bringing in a Super 8 Motel?
Didn't they run a large golf tournament for a couple of years. They don't have anything to do with the Fred Couples development in Sparwood do they?
What about Palm Springs did that work out for them?
What were they doing in Canmore? what happened with this Bighorn Resort.
It would sure be nice to get some information on these guys.

The planned developments are dead in the water. $34 million and counting of investors money gone to pay salaries, support luxury lifestyles, initial drawings etc. A gay club called The Villas plus an adjacent Heritage home were bought, trashed and abandoned in Palm Springs. Two luxury private residences were purchased there as well, foreclosed on. Bighorn Resort was left to rot after the money ran out. River Run was left a mess of coal dust and slag heaps.I'm stunned that they would even consider showing their faces in the CNP. Bang on decision by council to show them the door.

So Chloe does that mean that River Run will not be starting up soon?

What part of 'dead in the water' don't you understand? You have been lied to for a few years now. There will be no River Run, there is no investor money coming in, no Super 8 Hotel. Yikes, what does it take to get people to wake up to reality in that crisp, clean mountain air? Take care.
