Thank You

The Pass as spoken, I understand that and accept it. Hopefully the people that have been chosen will live up to the promises and committments that they have made.

But on to the more important issue at this time, I want to take a moment to thank all of those people that helped me and supported me, not just this election but the two previous one's.

I want to thank all the people the municipal employees, various boards, committees and volunter groups that I have had the pleasure of working with over the last six years.

Most of all I want to take a moment to thank my wife and family, and my close friends who have stood besides me now, in the past and the future.

Thanks for being an approchable, honest and straightforward politician who stood up to all the bullshit that was thrown his way by people too blinded by pet issues to see the truth.

Best of luck in the future, and I hope you keep the blog open. I'm a regular reader and would hate to see it fall by the wayside.

Kudos on a graceful acceptance of the results. A stark contrast to Mr. Prince's blog, where he rants about how the community has made a mistake and will go nowhere.

I feel that the community is poised to make some gains, in part because of some of the efforts you have made, but I agree with the majority that new people are needed to take it there. I think that a lot of people weren't happy with how business was done over the last three years, even if there were a few positive results (ie the Cuff Report recommendations and the Community Standards bylaw).

I hope whoever takes over gets to the bottom of the Bridgecreek fiasco..The Lethbridge Herald article states it will take millions to clean up the river run site..Who pays for that?
I was hoping Dean and John Prince were going to get to the botom of this..The ball is in your hands now Mr Decoux. ASK THE TOUGH QUESTIONS TO THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS CIRCUS ACT.
Letting them slither out of town leaving an environmental catastophe is not an option.

Dean, thanks for your hard work and dedication.

Hi Dean,

I would like to thank you for your service to the community. I hope that you run again in 3 years. I voted for you in the last 2 elections and I will vote for again.

Dean: I must congratulate you for running for council and for your excellent and mature blog comments after your loss.
I hope that after your hard work in the past few years you can take some time to relax and refresh....three years is not that far away.

Dean some of the comments you have posted over this election shows us all that looking ahead to the future will not be easy. Having had the opportunity to get to know you while you were on the Landfill board has given me some insight on what lies ahead for the new council.
Good Luck and hope to see out and about and we can have a chat.

Just wanted to thank you for all of your efforts in what has not been an easy situation, and gracious and mature attitude after the electorate has spoken. Some others could learn a lot from the example you have set. Even if one did not agree with some of the things you have done and the decisions you made during your teem, at least you are acting like a grown up. Thanks.

Dean, I would like to thank you for your past service on council. It is unfortunate that you and the others who worked with you did not get reelected.
I think that more people were happier with you than the votes indicate. In the CNP you get punished for every move you make.
Closing the centre cost you an automatic loss of 32% of all voters.( Remember the plebicite 68% to 32%)Then you followed the Cuff report , which led you to removing Joey F and Ray M. Both have lived here forever, therefore all their friends and relatives and coworkers could not vote for you.You have to figure that is at least 15% for each man.
When you add it all up its political suicide but at least you can hold your head high for starting the movement of the CNP in the right direction.

Dean
To be blunt in 2004 I did not vote for you. I was told at that time by other people running that you would get on council. Take advantage of your position using it to find a job with a developer or elsewhere in government. That you would care less if you had to screw over the community to do it.
In 2007 I did not vote for you because I was told again you just wait hes using council to lead to bigger and better things for himself.
Well this time I voted for you because I am sick and tired of waiting for you to do these things that people told me you would do.
They were wrong and I was really impressed how you stood up to Irwin for the last three years.
Keep your chin up, 2013 is not that far away and if you decide to run I will support you one hundred percent.
I appreciated your hard work.

So sad that so many people in the CNP do not even realize they were corralled to the voting polls. Sadder yet, is that the new council does not seem to realize they were handpicked and corralled to their positions on council.
I suspect we will once again see the 'same old people' given our tax dollars and not be held accountable, and heaven help anyone that dares to speak up and say, that is not right.
My house is for sale! I can't watch this fiasco any longer. Thanks for trying Dean.

Thanks for posting that Dean. Too bad nobody has stepped up yet, to help. Just more apathy. For shame!!

I can't anything to what has been said above, but perhaps 'I agree' with the previous sentiments is enough.

Dean, sorry to post this but, Sashas comment about APATHY, and shame bothers me.Sasha why do you need someone to step up and help, do it yourself. Talk to the municapality, organize a work bee, do whatever is needed, but do not post something on a blog and expect people to come running to help.If it worked that way I would post" build a Rec centre", "lower my Taxes".etc..Posting comments about apathy is not going to help anyone.
